KIZUNA BRAND CONCEPT
The Japanese term eKIZUNA' connotes an implication of especial connections and relationships'. Life is connected to many circumstances including Human, Nature, Culture and Environment. Nature especially has a strong impact on it. Recent reports regarding environmental damages and global warming have made us (the consumer) realize something needs to be done to slow these things down.
Often in the fashion industry, these damages occur when mass production leads to mass wastage. Wastage is taken into consideration when a brand manufactures its products, making it easier to neglect future consequences outside of the manufacturing stage Wastage can occur at any stage of the fashion business. Retailers have serious concerns about left over products at stores. KIZUNA believes it is very important for the brand to help the reduction effort of wastage and educate people, through Fashion, about what steps need to be taken. O ur interpretation of eKIZUNA' is to heighten awareness of these factors to develop a enon waste cycle' past the production stages.
KIZUNA has the continual theme of ECOLOGY. The earth is suffering from huge environmental impact caused by humans and we, as designers, have to start somewhere to change this situation. In response, KIZUNA has been utilizing user and environmental friendly fabrics such as recycle fabrics (KIMONO, Seconds, organic fabrics, and natural fabrics). Archiving 100% recycle products are very difficult, and KIZUNA will continue its commitment to utilize recyclable materials as much as possible. KIZUAN will also consider controlling the production volume as appropriate, in order to avoid wastage. |
